This page explains how cancellations, changes, returns, and refunds are handled for Modern Retreat Buildings quote-based building projects, Signature Homes, custom building packages, and other products identified as "Starting at," "Request a Quote," or "Quote Required."
Before an Order Is Finalized
Submitting a quote request, project inquiry, financing inquiry, or Start a Project form does not create an order or payment obligation. You may stop the inquiry process at any time before accepting a final written project quote or order agreement and making any required payment.
After a Project Order Is Accepted
Quote-based building projects are commonly produced, engineered, configured, procured, or scheduled for a specific customer and destination. They do not use a standard retail return window. Once an order is accepted, cancellation, change, return, and refund rights are governed by the final written Modern Retreat Buildings project quote or order terms and applicable law.
If supplier commitments, engineering, customization, production, procurement, or freight have begun, some project costs may be non-refundable or a project-specific cancellation charge may apply. Any non-refundable deposit or project-specific cancellation charge will be disclosed in writing before the order is finalized.
Changes to an Accepted Project
Requested changes are subject to feasibility, supplier approval, engineering impact, production status, freight impact, and revised pricing. A requested change is not effective until Modern Retreat Buildings confirms it in writing.
Damaged, Defective, or Missing Freight
Inspect freight deliveries when they arrive. Visible damage, missing packages, or damaged packaging should be noted on the carrier's delivery documentation whenever reasonably possible. Take clear photographs, retain available packaging and documentation, and contact Modern Retreat Buildings promptly. We will coordinate with the applicable supplier or carrier and determine the appropriate resolution under the final written project terms, applicable warranty, carrier rules, and applicable law.
Approved Refunds
When a refund is approved, it will generally be issued to the original payment method unless another method is agreed in writing or required by law. Processing times may vary by financial institution.
Which Terms Control
If this page conflicts with a customer's accepted final written project quote or order agreement, the accepted project-specific written terms control to the extent permitted by law.
