Many Modern Retreat Buildings building packages can be assembled by capable do-it-yourselfers. If you prefer professional help, you are welcome to hire a contractor of your choice.
Need help finding a contractor or assembly crew?
Modern Retreat Buildings is building a nationwide network of independent third-party contractors. Where suitable screened options are available, we may provide contact information for multiple contractors who service your project area. You are never required to use a contractor we refer.
For some Signature Home orders, experienced building-package assembly resources may also be available once an order is pending. These crews may be experienced with the building system but are not represented as licensed general contractors in every state. Depending on the project location, a locally licensed general contractor or licensed trades may still be required for electrical, plumbing, permitting, inspections, sign-off, or other regulated work.

How contractor matching works
- Tell us about your project. Submit your project state, ZIP code, county or borough if known, building or package, timeline, and the type of installation help you need.
- We review available options. We use your location and project scope to identify independent contractors who may service your area. Where available, we may provide two or three options rather than directing you to only one contractor.
- Screened referrals are checked before sharing. For contractors we identify as screened referrals, our process includes checking current public license status where licensing applies and requesting current insurance information.
- You choose and hire directly. You review the contractor, request pricing, confirm scope and schedule, and enter into any construction agreement directly with the contractor you select.
What if we do not have a screened contractor in your area?
If our referral network does not yet include a screened contractor for your location or required trade, we may help locate independent contractor candidates who appear to service your area. We will not present an unscreened candidate as an approved or screened Modern Retreat Buildings referral.
Types of contractor help
Depending on the project, this may include general contracting or project coordination, metal-building or structural-steel erection, concrete and foundations, grading and site work, framing and carpentry, crane or rigging work, roofing and exterior work, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or other licensed trades.
Before hiring
We recommend that every customer independently verify licensing, insurance, references, relevant project experience, pricing, schedule, permitting responsibilities, and the written scope of work before hiring any contractor.
